Because of a technicality in how "major parties" are identified in state law, and lack of anyone on Team Romney paying attention to same, the GOP may not qualify for "major party" status, and it's too late to sign up as a "minor party" for November.
And though nobody thought the GOP wouldn't still be put on the ballot, the local Libertarians are suing to keep it from happening.
Not that Romney was likely to win Washington State, but it could reduce overall GOP turnout there in some other important offices.
I look forward to seeing how this lays out.
