Protocol Automotive has been servicing and repairing cars, trucks, farm equipment and small engines in Floyd since 2006. As of January 1, the shop has relaunched as Joe?s Garage, Inc.
?It?s easier to spell,? said Joey Kaylor, owner and lead technician, about the name change. ?Otherwise, our customers can expect the same service, pricing and everything.?
Joe?s Garage, Inc., will continue to provide Floyd County and beyond with proactive and reactive experience-based vehicle and engine services, as well as free Wifi and coffee in the lobby and complimentary loaner vehicles for more extensive repairs.
Kaylor is a third-generation gearhead and graduate of the Nashville Automotive and Diesel College. His certifications include ASE Certification, Master Automotive Technician Certification, Master Truck Technician Certification, ASE Certified Service Advisor, and Certified Machinist. Sometimes known as The Hateful Mechanic, Kaylor is a straight-shooter who prides himself on ?test, don?t guess? approach to diagnostics and repairs. He was recently featured in a Valley Business FRONT cover story on young entrepreneurs.
The Joe?s Garage team is rounded out with Andy Lusk, who has worked with Kaylor for more than 5 years, and Chris Connor, who is also a graduate of the Nashville Auto-Diesel College and has more than 10 years of experience with field equipment repair.
Joe?s Garage is housed in a 12 bay eco-friendly building which made use of recycled and repurposed materials during construction. Ongoing environmental protection measures include a rainwater tank for the bathrooms and a furnace that burns spent motor oil that might otherwise make its way into groundwater and creeks. ?I live here, too,? said Kaylor of his efforts and his approach to business.
